Dr. R. C. Perumal
Associate Professor
He is currently Associate Professor in Dept. of Speech Language and Hearing Sciences, Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (DU) with 21 years of professional experience in the field of Speech and Language Pathology. He completed his Post-graduation at the All India Institute of Speech and Hearing, Mysore & Under graduation and Doctorate at Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research Chennai. He completed his Post-graduation at the All India Institute of Speech and Hearing, Mysore & Under graduation and Doctorate at Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research Chennai.
Dr. Perumal’s clinical interests include Autism Spectrum Disorders, Social communication disorders, Aphasia and Dementia. He is currently the Co-ordinator of Speech and Language clinical services of Karthikeyan child development unit at Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre. He has served as resource persons and delivered lectures/scientific presentations in Autism Spectrum Disorders and Aphasia in state and national conferences.
He is a recognized Ph D research supervisor of the university and has guided several master dissertations. He is serving as reviewer of scientific research articles for national and international journals related to Speech and Language. He has published scientific research articles in national and international journals in areas of clinical phonology and Aphasia.
Dr.Perumal has served as member of Board of Studies for Speech Language Pathology and Audiology program at Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (DU). He coordinates placement activities related to the department in association with university’s Central placement cell. He is also member of Faculty Quality Cell (Allied Health Sciences) of the university. Dr.Perumal is a founder president of SLHS chapter of Alumni Association of SRIHER (DU). Dr.Perumal has served as office bearer in Indian Speech and Hearing Association -Tamil Nadu and is a Life member of the Indian Speech and Hearing Association. He is a recognized visiting expert nominated by Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) for assessment of Speech Language and Hearing training programs in the country.
Dr. V. Chitra
Dean
Dr. V. Chitra is currently holding the post of Dean, SRM College of Pharmacy, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur. She is in the field of Academics and Research for the past 25 years. She has completed her B.Pharmacy and M.Pharmacy degree from The Tamilnadu M.G.R Medical University, Guindy. She has completed her Ph.D. in the area of Neurosciences from SRM Institute of Science and Technology in the year 2011. In her academic career she rose from the position of Assistant Professor to the post of Dean.
She has published more than 120 research papers in indexed publications, 5 patent publications and resource person for various national and international conferences. She is currently guiding full time and part time research scholars for the Ph.D program. She is also a Board of Study member for several universities, Examiners for UG, PG and PhD programs. She is an active researcher in the field of preclinical models of Neurodegenerative and metabolic diseases with several research projects undertaken from Academic and Pharmaceutical Industry sectors.
